The answer was the same: no."\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Instead, the Ligue 1 club had allowed United States international striker Balogun, 25, to fly to Merseyside to complete a £40m move to Everton. According to Monaco, Camara had agreed to stay with the club.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>With three hours remaining of the transfer window, Chelsea were content with their midfield options, despite the sale of Fernandez, after failing with enquiries for Camara and Roma's Manu Kone.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>But issues with Balogun's Everton medical saw the door open again for Chelsea at the £47m price point Chelsea had previously offered. Negotiations were back underway with Monaco at 20:00 BST.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Meanwhile, Everton failed to find alternatives to Balogun and revived their move with minutes before the deadline.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Chelsea had completed all the necessary paperwork for Camara and did not need to submit a deal sheet - a request to the Premier League for additional time to complete a transfer, post the deadline.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>But the plug was pulled. Monaco acknowledge Camara was disappointed after he had spoken to manager Xabi Alonso, passed a medical and signed a contract until 2033.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>"What happened was that around 22:00 BST our time, maybe a bit earlier, Everton realised there was no issue and decided they were ready to sign the contract [for Balogun]," Scuro told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>"As soon as we received that information, we came back to Chelsea and said there was no deal. Because that's also fair. That's what I've done since I arrived.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>"It's not about being loved by people outside the club. It's about doing what Monaco needs."\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Scuro says it is possible Monaco will look at selling other players to countries whose transfer window remains open in order to acquire the funds they need.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He is open to welcoming back both players and says he expects Camara to be back with "full power" for their upcoming match away at Paris St-Germain on Friday night.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>"I really understand because a player can get excited by conversations with a coach and by everything a club like Chelsea can offer," Scuro continued.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>"This is not the end of the world.
